Which style of curtains let in the least light at the top for bay windows?

Pencil pleat or eyelet?

I think it depends more on the curtain rail. Our curtains on a pole let in more light because the pole stands away from the window. In the other bay the curtains are on a rail close fitted to the top of the window and don't let light through. Both curtains are pencil pleat.

So track better than pole? Can you have any curtains on a track or is pleat only?
