Do I need basin in shower room?

We managed to squeeze a toilet and small washhand basin into what was a cupboard in our guest bedroom and now have the cash to think about a separate shower room. (Can't have them in one room as it's a former Mr Bodge the Builder loft conversion and the head of the stairs go inbetween! Grrr!).

My question is whether we need a WHB in the potential shower room?

We have the space and no real issues with plumbing / drainage, it's just perceived need.

Do you "wash and go" or would it be nice for teeth brushing etc not to do this in the room with the toilet?

So essentially you would have en en suite split into two separate rooms? One with a shower in it, and one with a toilet and basin?

I think it might be nicer to have a basin in the shower room, but not at the expense of a nice big shower if that makes sense?

So first choice, nice big shower and a decent basin and mirror. If that isn't possible, I wouldn't squeeze in a smaller shower and small basin.

Good advice, thank you. Yes, we'd potentially have a separate shower room in addition to the current ensuite wc.

We'd unfortunately be limited, space wise, to a 90x80cm shower cubicle just due to the layout we have with a 80x90cm drying area infront (required under Scottish Building Regs).

There would be space in this for a good sized WHB, with the room being a small L-shape.

Definitely fab lighting and big mirrors!
