Anyone have experience of being a Property Guardian?

There's a property in the area I'm looking to rent in which is wants a Property Guardian. It is literally 1/3 of the price and therefore very attractive.

I have no experience, but my understanding is that you have the same level of security of tenure as a lodger in a b&b, ie, none, maybe a week or two's notice if you're lucky, rather than the standard 2 months. Hence the low rent. If you're footloose and fancy free, it can give you time to save for a deposit etc, but I couldn't recommend it if you have dc.

See here for example.

Thanks Hirples, I'm 23, single and without children so I'm pretty free atm!

In your shoes then, I'd probably give it a go. But be sure you read your contract, and put your saved rent aside. Good luck. :)
