Bridging the gap

So our buyers are wanting to move in 26th August. Not much wriggle room as they're in a rental at the mo. Meanwhile our vendors haven't found their new place yet. Is there such a thing as like a one month rental or do we just all move in with my parents for the time being? Dp would hate it!

We lived in a hotel, not great but we knew it was for a fixed period so treated it like a holiday Grin Contracts were all signed before we moved and it was for our forever house which made it worth it.

Luckily we had lovely friends who let us use their washing machine and tumble drier and fed us several times.

All our furniture went into storage. The major downside is the cost of the hotel and also the double removal cost, moving you out, then another team moves you in at a later date plus all your stuff is in storage crates and cannot be easily accessed.

Hmm, if your chain isn't even complete it sounds pretty risky though? Your sellers could shilly shally for months then decide to stay put after all! If they went into rented they would break the chain, but it seems a bit mad for you to be looking for short lets or hotels.
If your buyers are in rented can they not extend their contract to a rolling one month's notice one?

Our vendors have divorced. So it's a divorce sale. He's already gone it's her still searching.

Oh lord, and presumably she doesn't really want to go. Ugh.

I managed to find an estate agent who'd offer me a three month rental but it was hard work. My second option was going to be a holiday let, which would have been more expensive but we're not really in a tourist part of the country so not hideously so.

No she wants to! She offered on a place apparently but was outbid.
