How much would you expect to pay for removals ( no packing) - distance about 180 miles? Probably about 10 hours work, considering they will need to drive back here again.

How big is the house they are packing?

absolutelyflawed · 14/07/2017 23:20

Ah yes, it's a 2 bed ( no garage etc), going into a 4 bed.

We paid around £1,500 (no packing) for a move 300miles this year, 3 bed to 3 bed. But got quoted up to £4,000 (including packing). Bear in mind that 180 miles may be a 2 day job not 10hours, due to loading and unloading time plus limits on working/driving hours due to health and safety

I almost posted this the other day as were doing almost exactly the same next month. We were getting quotes around 1500-2500. Looked around for a good few days and have now found a smaller company who will do it for 600 and 200 for packing if we want it. Checked lots of reviews as slightly dubious but all good so were going with that. Were moving SE to NW.

We recently paid £1300 for similar distance/house size etc. It was as others have said a 2 day job.

We paid £800+VAT to move three bed house contents to storage unit 400 miles away just over 2 months ago. Bloody brilliant they were too!
