Gazumped

Has anyone else been gazumped? We just have and we are feeling gutted, especially as we've just paid for the homebuyers survey. We can't afford to beat their offer either.
I wish there was a way of preventing this from happening.

I'm really sorry that has happened to us ( more than once) I think human beings have a moral obligation to be decent to each other whatever. I would never do it. Have some flowers get the next house off the market the minute your offer accepted and check it yourself no point relying o other people. Even if they are paid to do a job.

Send the owners a bill.... Please refund the costs we lost as a result of your decision to accept a higher offer after accepting ours. I understand your desire to get £xK more as much as you will understand the need for you to refund my costs.

You don't have a leg to stand on or a hope in hell of getting this money back but it might make you feel better!!
