What kind of discount with Velfac?

We are currently planning for an extension and house refurb and as part of that we are going to replace all our windows plus add bi-fold (or sliding doors) in a large open plan living room/dining room/kitchen space.

Velfac have quoted me, supply only, £36k (inc VAT) for bi-folds and £29k (inc VAT) for sliding doors. Both quotes also include replacement windows. I'm going to assume there is some wiggle room for a discount and no one pays list price these days? If so anyone care to estimate the likely discount i should be pushing for?

Alternatively, anyone any decent recommendations for alternative suppliers? I hear Raeners are good and going to get a quote, any others to put on my list?

Thanks in advance.

Have you thought about Kloeber? We used them and have been pleased with their product and their professionalism.

We've just had aluminium 3g from uniwin in Scotland. 16k including installation for all windows, 3x French windows and 4m sliders. Not in yet, so can't comment on performance, but they look great.

I'll give this a helpful bump as I'd be interested too! We're just starting to look at sliding doors (although we need to order asap given the lead times). My current plan is to ask for 10% off (because that's the usual discount on The Apprentice for trade products Smile). They can only say no ...

You can get a lot, I forgot off hand but ours was something like 20% oh, plus they took about 5% more off unprompted if we paid the deposit early.
Just discuss with them, our two orders were about 4k and about 8k no where as much as yours

Thanks John, that's the kind of thing I was hoping to hear, that original quote not feeling so painful now.
