Plug in sonic bug deterrents - do they work?

Anyone ever used these? The Amazon reviews are all over the place - either rubbish or brilliant. I'd love to hear some proper opinions tia x

buy one, pick up a house spider and put it by it and observe.

house spiders are your friends anyway.

Not on cockroaches, mice or ants

They worked on cockroaches for me and mice for my mum.

We found they stopped mice but they were field mice coming in from the garden. I don't know if they would do much against a house mice infestation.
