What level of cleaning do you normally do before you move out when you've sold your house?

Depends how nice the buyers were!

Also depends how easy it is to do a clean - if there is a bit of a gap between you moving out and the buyers moving in and you're moving locally, I would nip back and dust / Hoover / clean bathrooms etc, otherwise it's best endeavours to leave it in a reasonable state.

Ours was spotless apart from one cellar room I didn't get to hoover because our sale went through earlier than anticipated. We had a packing service so I cleaned each room as it was emptied. Bathroom cleaned thoroughly the night before then given a quick once over next morning. We had arranged to leave a fridge freezer and an undercounted fridge so I defrosted and cleaned those the week before we completed.

Pity the people we bought from didn't do us the same courtesy!
