Hi

I'm looking to fit electric gates to the end of our driveway and was just wondering if anyone can recommend a company and/or share how much they paid for electric gates recently?

We're in Yorkshire if it helps. Tia!

For a 5 bar soft wooden with underground cabling and fobs as well as a button by the front door we were quoted £3,000 by the most highly regarded company local to me in the Home Counties.

Hi,

Firstly need to decide if you would like above or below ground electrics. We are also north and have a large 5 bar gate with above ground electrics. We purchased a "kit" for the height and weight of the gate, plus the sensors and keyfobs. We also have a keypad code entry system for visitors without keyfobs. Electrician then fitted the armoured wiring to the gate and attached all the fixings onto the gate. Excluding the gate itself, if I remember the total cost was no more than £500 (about 5 years ago).

Ah thanks Schloss It sounds like you fitted a kit to your existing gate, is that right? We're actually not even looking for new gates as ours are fine, but I didn't realise you could make existing gates electric.

You can make existing gates electric as long as the gates are sturdy/strong enougj
