Hampshire property prices

We're making a big move down to Hampshire to our forever home. We've found a big house with a big garden, but the owners have been there for nearly 40 years and everything is original (including an orange bathroom suite!) It's obviously a bit difficult to do a like-for-like comparison, but it seems priced to sell almost as if it had already been renovated. Anyone have any wise words on property prices in the New Forest? Have a deep-seated fear of paying way over the odds, but I do love this house and may get carried away offering crazy money when I speak to the estate agent!

Check the Zoopla House Prices page to see what has been paid recently for similar properties in the area. You can be as specific as searching by postcode, and it'll give you a breakdown of each property, when it was last sold, and how much it went for:

You can also search sold prices on the OurProperty website.

I live in the New Forest, there are areas where people are desperate to live and so will pay a premium to buy, regardless of the renovation needed to so it is very difficult to determine the value sometimes. Has the property been on the market for long?
