Need some colour

4 weeks from completing on a new build and our kitchen will be very similar to the photo. Tiny things have changed, ovens moved, plugs changed but pretty much as is.

Although I love the kitchen, it feels like it needs some oomph, splashes of colour.

Considered bright backsplashes but we maxed ourselves out on upgrades to the rest of the house and bottoming out our LTV and therefore as it's such a big area to cover, a colour mistake would be one I couldn't really afford.

Any other ideas? Thoughts?

The only space for any colour adding is a splashback. You could just paint it for now with the aim of doing the splashback later. You could also put in a colourful upstand - 150-200 mm high along the same strip. Kettle, toaster, tea towels, bar stools etc will break it up too a bit. Can you do anything with the rear wall of the kitchen (where I assume you have doors onto the garden)?

I thought about appliances, but got bought lovely Dualit stuff at Christmas - in now unhelpfully grey- that I couldn't bare to replace.

Right hand side are bifold doors, behind is a dining room area.

I think too bright acolour splash would look dated. I would go for greys abs suck egg blues. I assume you've got breakfast bar stools going in? Do they have some colour on the upholstery? A nice piece of artwork on the walls.
