We are in the design stage of an extension to create a master bedroom and ensuite. Architect has drawn initial plans for both a loft conversion and an extension over the garage so we can decide which to do. Trouble is, I'm favouring one option and DH is favouring the other!
The loft conversion would give us slightly more sqm but some of that would be restricted headroom. The garage extension would be slightly closer to neighbour and so we may have more of a hassle with planning and keeping him happy.
Does anyone have any pros or cons of either option that we need to consider? We have two under 5s and I am a bit worried about the practicalities of being on a different floor to them with a loft conversion but I know some people must do it and make it work.
Seeing the architect again this week for further discussion but I was hoping for "real life" advice really! Thank you!
