Brandon, Durham- anyone know it?

Bit of a long shot this. I am considering moving closer to my parents for a few months- renting- as one of them is terminally ill and the other needs support. I'm from the north but now live 5 hrs away. I don't know the 'other' side of Durham. There are quite a number of nice looking houses to rent in Brandon on a new ish estate. I ought to just go and look but wondered if any MNetters knew the area. It's just as a base- I'd be on my own.

I used to work near here and knew a few people that lived there, it's a typical pit village, quite small, but understand they have been developing the area. It's close to the centre of Durham by both car/bus so not too rural. It should be fine for the short term renting.

Anyone ?

I do. If you are asking this then I assume you are not local. Are you looking to move there?

SoggyGround · 17/03/2023 15:25

Sorry I managed to miss these important facts in your OP 🤣

Some parts of Brandon the people are very klicky. They will believe things that are not true if it's told to them from a long timer who lives there.
