Carpet runners

We are about to move and our new property has beautiful oak and glass banisters. I upgraded the treads and risers so they are also Oak as I love the carpet runner concept and thought it would set the stairs off nicely. But before I order it.. does anyone have their stairs like this and have any feedback? Don't want to have to replace it anytime soon!

You do know you don't need to buy something specifically sold as a runner? Carpet can be cut into strips the correct width and the edges bound. We have this up our oak stairs with the same carpet wall-to-wall in the hall and on the landing.

Don't get flat woven runners if you have cats - their claws cause pulls.

Fudge - yup, think we will match the landing carpet and get it bound

No cats at our house unless I want to replace DH.. horrifyingly allergic so safe there but thanks for the heads up
