Hello,

Awaiting to sign our contract on our purchase. We have had various documents that have required our signature witnessed. Is it likely that the contract Willis need to be also?

Contract won't. Transfer deed will.

No contract will not need to be witnessed.

Your contract won't need a witness. As a buyer you probably won't sign the Transfer Deed. You may need a mortgage deed signing in which case that does require a witness.

Contract - No
Deed (eg transfer/mortgage deed) -Yes. Mortgage deeds may need to be witnessed by the solicitor if the mortgage company asks for this.
Wills - two witnesses
