We have viewed and really like a house that is on with Purplebricks. I am clearly being thick but I cannot work out how to make an offer. And then - if we need to negotiate post offer - how does that work? We have a few conditions on the offer in terms of timescales - can we specify them?

I've pretty much avoided viewing through online agents for this very reason, but we really like this house!!

We bought a house a couple of years ago through Purple Bricks. I don't remember exactly how we did the initial offer, but yes it was all online. I think it must have been an option on the main page for the house, where you book the viewings.
With regards to negotiating after the initial offer, Purple Bricks phoned us up and then called the seller etc.
I found them very helpful over the phone so I'd say just give them a ring if there is a phone number.

purplebricks has a FANTASTIC 24/7 live chat / support with English speaking advisors. It's a dream come true! So I'm sure they'll walk you through it all. Look in the top menu for help/contact, then on the right-side of the page is a live chat link.

To make an offer there's a "make offer" button in the top right of the page, (make sure you're logged in first) but beyond that I'm not sure.

Ok from my search tonight you can't make offers via the app...

I would hope they had english speaking advisors, drummergirl......!!

chalky - at one time, British Gas, British Elec all used to outsource to India. You'd have to repeat everything at least three times and wait for them to then confirm that you said what you just said! Places like ebay do and trying to get sense out of them is hard so English-speaking advisors sadly, makes a refreshing change.

Sorry, I don't know about the app as I don't use it!

I'm about to complete on a property I found on purple bricks. You set up a profile and make your offer through the website.

adriennewillfly · 26/06/2017 22:51

Once you've place the offer, it gets added to your profile and the vendor can accept or reject with comments. It'll also tell you if a different offer has been accepted.

Oh one thing I learnt - people who "watch" properties are alerted when an offer has been made on the property they're watching - so in a way, PB do encourage gazumping.
