How do I change this flipping lightbulb?

I can't get the plastic bit to budge at all.
There are 2 of these over the shower and they have both gone now and I can't get the old bulbs out!!
Do I need to go up into the loft?!
I hate my recessed lighting. Most of it doesn't work.

How do I change this flipping lightbulb?

If you type in on YouTube "replace recessed lighting w/cover" the video should help! Ours are the same Envy

With mine you have to screw that faceplate thing off and then get to the bulb underneath by pulling the whole thing out. It's a right bugger about. Buy LED bulbs and at least you won't have them dying so often! Ours are always full of bloody flies and I hate them!

You need a sucker to remove those

About £1 from b&q etc

TheCrowFromBelow · 24/06/2017 10:54

I take it the green face isn't because you're jealous of the exciting task ahead of me Grin

The green face is a "wtf were you thinking" aimed at whoever made that type of light Grin I won't lie, I get my dad to sort them out Grin

TheCrowFromBelow · 24/06/2017 12:14

Off to get some LED bulbs and panic about putting the flipping things back

Omg I had a thread about this a couple of weeks ago and just knew it would be this light bulb Grin

I have 5 of the fuckers in the bathroom and was down to only 2 working!

drummergirl34 · 24/06/2017 16:27

There are loads of very useful how-to's on youtube for basic DIY tasks! I love it!

TheCrowFromBelow · 24/06/2017 16:36

They are ridiculous MyCalm I've got 2 out and back in and still only 1 works, and one of the other fittings not near the shower has been painted over so I can't unscrew it.
So I have 2.5 out of 5 lights working as one of the fittings doesn't like the LED bulb so I'll have to go out again and find a halogen one Hmm
I going to investigate electricians and better bathroom lighting.
