Bifolds - measuring-> fitting process

Those who've had bifolds fitted - did your builder make the opening then the door company come to measure? OR did you order a certain size door and the builder make the opening to fit?

I just don't fancy the idea of have the opening boarded for 10 weeks (or however long it takes to manufacture)

We had bifolds fitted as part of an extension. We deliberately went for a standard size - most manufacturers have a number of in stock standard sizes, so the builder made the opening knowing we'd ordered a specific size. It's way cheaper to get a standard size than something custom.

Agree with pp. You order the size you want and the builder builds / creates opening to the size. 2 weeks before they were due to go in, bifold company came out to check opening and everything was ready.

2 weeks of being exposed is better than 10 weeks I suppose. Fingers crossed for dry weather!
