Moving to Hexham, Northumberland

Hi, we expect to be moving in the near future to Hexham, Northumberland. My children are aged 5 and 8. Any advice re (first) schools and potential areas to move to would be welcome. Thanks,

Some of our best friends live there. Kids of a similar age. They love it! (Not sure if they are on here though).
