Engineered Oak transitions between rooms

Hi,

Am considering putting herringbone oak flooring in my hallway and regular plank flooring in the adjoining rooms - firstly, does anyone think this might look weird?

Anyway, the floor will be floating afaik and not glued/nailed to the floor as it will be on underfloor heating and needs to be able to move. Does anyone know if it's possible to do the following type of join on this type of set up?

Thanks a million
