Heat gun or sander

What would be best to use for doors and skirting? Got a bit carried away using a scrapper...was only planning to see how many layers of paint lurked underneath one of the doors!

If it needs stripping off, start with a hot air gun and a selection of flat and curved scrapers. After it is cold you will need to sand off the remains. Use your fingers on the curves and grooves.

If it is almost perfect, with only a thin coat of paint, light sanding will do.

Heat Gun is a lovely name if you're a celebrity but Sander would probably blend in better.

Just remember if you are doing the front door, that the door mat behind the door might get a bit melty. As will the brushes on the letterbox. And the insulation strip around the inside of the door.
