Defo put your photos up :-)

Pets won't help.... et rid of all pets and pet stuff from the rooms for photos.

Nice ironed bed linen? Beds staged like in hotel rooms?

Nice colour fluffy towels in the bathroom?

All surfaces clear of 'stuff'?

MissDuke · 14/06/2017 09:52

Please tell me the stunt pineapple is someone dressed as a pineapple doing crazy tricks in each pic????

wowfudge · 14/06/2017 09:58

Ooh, there's an idea. I second removing any sign of pets. Stunt watermelons a la Kardashians?

Longji · 14/06/2017 10:00

Fake washing up area? I like an artful display or lemons and limes on a wooden cake stand if possible too.
Definitely remove all traces of animals.

MissDuke · 14/06/2017 10:01

We went a bit OTT and got the dog a nice new clean bed and new water and food bowls - we also got him a hair cut to reduce hairs and make him look tidier Grin

Nowthereistwo · 14/06/2017 10:05

Put toilet lids down - pet hate

Move clutter - even if it's temp hidden in other room for picture.

Look at the pictures whilst they are there - if something doesn't look right take another one.

RandomlyGenerated · 14/06/2017 11:01

Turn the TVs off. Why do people have pictures taken with the TV on in every room?

Iron the bed linen and make sure any clutter under the beds is out of sight.

Kitchen - keep the work surfaces clear (other than the artfully arranged stunt pineapple) otherwise it hints at lack of storage. Take the kids pictures down from fridge etc.

Good matching towels in bathrooms, neatly folded.

Flowers outside the front of the house - in tubs / hanging baskets etc if nothing in the front garden / front yard.

Leave a few family things out otherwise it can look very stark (unless you have achieved zen and minimalist living).

StripyBlanket · 14/06/2017 11:15

My pet hate is crap under the bed when I look at houses. People often have a beautifully staged room with ironed bed linen and yet you can see loads of junk under the bed.

Definitely take some trial photos yourself and let us critique them

NotMeNoNo · 14/06/2017 11:19

Every room to have a splash of colour - plant, cushion, table mat. Gives the photos a lift. Only leave out posh lifestyle clutter like little arrangements of ornaments. Do check photos. I retook the front of house one myself at later time of day. Pineapple is great though!

Stuntavocado · 14/06/2017 11:54

Tch. No dog asleep on bed πŸ˜‰

Ironing pillows and getting the posh bed throws out.

Bowl of limes - check.
House selling bingo!

Yes and the ten year old's room is my biggest problem!

I can't help, just taking notes and hijacking a bit because I'm about to do this.

Should I remove rugs? Do they make a small room look smaller?

AnnPerkins · 14/06/2017 12:31

That's one epic-looking nap your dog's having, by the way.

ElspethFlashman · 14/06/2017 12:34

Watching as our pics are happening next Monday and the place is a shit heap.

Kokusai · 14/06/2017 13:16

@Stuntavocado

The ten year olds room will come up a treat. Just bag everything currently on the floor and desk into some big ikea bags and move out of the way for the photos!!!

LadyPenelopeCantDance · 14/06/2017 13:19

No personal pictures. Remove all clutter including all the toiletries in the bath!

sufficatedsue · 14/06/2017 13:22

Joining in the fun if that's ok as this'll be us next week!!ConfusedConfused

MrsBadger · 14/06/2017 13:24

[harsh judgement approaching]
10yos room needs complete sweep.

Everything off floor.
Everything except books off bookshelves.
Leave out [squints] globe, dinosaur and giraffe on shelf above desk; pot of pens and lamp on desk. That is all.

(Just looking for pics of how DS's room looked affter similar treatment)

Stuntavocado · 14/06/2017 13:32

That's the 'before' pic of DCs room of course! No animals will be photographed!

Justmadeperfectflapjacks · 14/06/2017 13:35

For a dc bedroom that's pretty ship shape!! And I would buy the house if the dog was included in the asking price!!

SoreenLoaf · 14/06/2017 13:35

[have also namechanged]
Here are DD's and DS's rooms dressed for sale. Be ruthless!

FunSpunge · 14/06/2017 13:38

Iron your bedding!!!!! Un-ironed bedding looks awful on photos!

LadyPenelopeCantDance · 14/06/2017 13:43

Soreen, I would say if you could get rid of the desks and the drawers it would make the rooms feel less cluttered and much bigger. Appreciate that isn't easy or practical though!

masterblaster2000 · 14/06/2017 13:46

Those stickers all over his drawers are making me feel funny Confused like I know they'll leave white tacky stuff if you take them off but they look really ugly on there! Sorry!

SoreenLoaf · 14/06/2017 13:49

LadyP we sold the house (in 6 weeks, for the asking price) 18m ago, was just trying to find pics of what can emerge from carnage like the OP's Wink

(As it happened the desks were vital - we sold to a family with teens who needed to see there was space for homework even in the tiny bedrooms)
