Rented house - any way to improve shower water flow?

Hi,

The house we are renting has two showers - one proper shower and another over the bath.

The problem with both of them is that the amount of water coming from the shower heads is so little we've given up trying to use them. Is there anything I can do to improve / fix this?

Thank you

We recently had the taps with shower hoses replaced in our rented flat (on approval of landlord). Water pressure is way better now as they were completely clogged with limescale. Could you try a descaler?

Not sure it would be limescale as the property was completely renovated and only occupied for 6 months before us. What do you think?

have you got a hot water cylinder? What colour?

Are they electric showers?

Hi,
Yes I have a hot water cylinder but can't see what colour it is. It has insulation around it.

They are not electric showers.

Do they have restrictors in the heads?

Herefornow1 · 14/06/2017 12:45

Right. I'll have to google that and get back to you!

Do you mean the HW cylinder has a red jacket?

Is the cold tank in the loft, or on top of the cylinder?

Photo of the shower heads and mixers may help.

Here are the pics. Both showers are the same.
Thanks so much for taking the time to reply!

I rather think the white is paint on a stiff plastic foam coating. If you can see the foam, or scratch the paint off, it will be yellow, or green, or blue.

I think there will be a large water tank in the loft, probably rectangular black plastic. It will be useful to look and see if there is any blockage in the bottom, such as wet insulation or a dead pigeon.

The height of the cold tank above the shower head will limit the pressure. It is likely to be only two metres or so, and the shower will not be much good.

Ok I'll try to do all of that and let you know.
Many thanks!
