Oven help! single oven only, Bosch or Neff?

We only have room for a single oven: that's fine if it has a reasonable amount of space inside (though that's sometimes hard to find out from the info online!). Can anyone recommend a Bosch or Neff they've bought in the last couple of years - what's good about it, or what do you find frustrating? I've read someone saying about how they couldn't grill with the oven door open (not sure it was either of these brands though), so that sort of thing would be useful to know - as would how many shelf points they have etc. Top end of budget is £500 kindly gifted by very sympathetic relative! Star

Hoping someone can help me out with info as my head is full to bursting of cold and I'm not getting far with finding out the different between all these ovens online... Confused

Neff is apparently better if you bake. I hanker for the Slide and Hide door! But we otherwise prefer our ancient gas cooker.

Neff. Replaced old one with Bosch but this has only one shelf plus roasting tray. Everything burns in one corner despite being fan oven.
Will definitely get Neff next time. Sorry I don't have a clue about models this is just my personal experience and I'm a rubbish cook anyway.

Samsung do one that splits into 2 ovens when you want it to. Brilliant for when you want o cook things at different temps and it has a good warranty on it too

I love my single Bosch and would replace it when I goes still going strong after 10 years.

We have Bosch and they're fine (2 singles). Bake much better cakes than my old hotpoint, quick to heat etc

We have all Neff appliances. Very happy with them but no particular reason. I believe Neff, Bosch (and maybe Siemens) are all the same company anyway.

We avoided Neff for the grill thing. We went for a basic Bosch oven and it's fine. Can grill with the door open.

Agree Cycle Hire, I think Siemens do the all-singing all-dancing super duper stuff and Bosch are the bottom of the range basic, with Neff in the middle.

My neff stainless steel single oven trim is 'rusting' (I know stainless steel is supposed to rust, but mine is). I have had it less than 6 months :-(. It is great for baking though. Even heat for baking. Also only one shelf and grill pan, but I bought a spare shelf online. I think that is standard these days.

Hi everyone - hey, thanks for all the replies! I had to go and buy the oven in a hurry in the end (electrician insisting that he had to know the exact model, rating etc before he would do a wiring plan... our builders explained he's a pain to work with but he is good and neat at his job!). So in the end I went with this Bosch one (23B150B), because I'd read about some people saying Neff quality had gone downhill. It's an older model of Bosch that originally cost more like £470, and comes with 2 shelves, a grill pan and 5 shelf points... so I'm hoping it works out OK in the end! Thanks for all your input though, I'm glad someone answered as I thought I must have bored everyone to tears...
