When to change address etc.

We're moving house (hopefully) in about 3 weeks. All solicitors are working to the 3rd July. We're also hoping to exchange next week some time.
I was hoping to change addresses and things after exchange date but I'm concerned about it getting quite close to the move date and not being able to give enough notice to Sky etc.

All searches etc are back. Our buyer also wants to come round the house again at the weekend. Is this a good thing? We've started packing so really hope they're not about to back out after paying solicitors fees etc.

Does everyone feel nervous when they're waiting to exchange? 😂😂

Shamelessly following as I need the same info.

I've been nervous during the whole process, just want to get to exchange now! Our buyers have been around once since we accepted their offer. We were afraid that they would back out if we refused, however as yourniw do close to exchange I'd say no, something along the lines of family get together or the like?

As for change of addresses etc, I will be contacting as soon as we exchange. We are counting on at least two weeks to complete and I'm very organised as far as paperwork and online accounts go- I have drafted emails/letters etc already. Some will have even more simple means of updating personal information through their apps too.

Good luck with your forthcoming move!

I've already agreed to have them come round again. I figure it's a good chance to try and nail down an exchange date and find out if they want the playhouse in the garden Grin plus we've been to see our new home many times although that one is empty.

Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly for you too!

Set up six months post redirect as soon as you exchange. This is the second job after insuring the new house - have you got policy quotes?

Then arrange broadband and phone, and removals. Contact council to set up new council tax account. Advise car insurers of move date.

On move day, take photos of all meter readings. Inform suppliers. Cancel old house insurance.

Asap after, change driving licence details . all else can then be done in slow time with the help of the redirect. Keep a list.

This is why you need that two weeks to completion.
