after living with a blue bath room suite for 24 yrs i finally have some money to do up my bathroom - its a delightful blue suite with pink floor to ceiling tiles!

the thing is i rather like it now - its very 'solid' and has no cracks or issues, apart from blue with pink tiles!

having looked at the cost of a total refurb im now thinking of keeping the suite but putting in while tiles with some sort of a blue tile line around the room, any one seen such a creation and been amazed how lovely it looks ??

im not planning on moving ever so not worried about wanting to improve house value...would i be bonkers to celebrate the blueness !!

Yes, they don't make them like they used to. Why not? It would look good with the tiling you suggest. Perhaps some swish new taps too? Add some colour matched flooring and accessories and it would look lovely. I hate slavery to current fashions anyway.

thanks Lucisky yes i do think it would be such a waster to rip it out tho google tells me they are going for £900+ second hand so maybe trendy again!

i was thinking of new taps, flooring and even a new tooth brush cup !

Yes, I'm doing this too, only mine is pale green (not avocado!). Can't afford to replace the suite but I think I can do a lot with the right tiles, taps and flooring.

How about some lovely Moroccan style tiles? They would go really nicely with a blue suite

im loving the Moroccan tiles, i was going to do floor to ceiling tiles but actually wondering if i need to - we have a down stairs shower so this bathroom could just be for a bath...i could just have a nice block of posh tiles and paint the rest of the walls !

I think that would look great and rather classy

A big yes from me too! We replaced our bathroom suite a couple of years ago and I could not believe the difference in quality. It is hard to get a toilet without the push button but ours kept sticking which has put me off getting the same in our new house - however it is very hard to get one with a traditional handle! Also the toilet often needed flushed twice whereas the old one had a great flush on it. The older suites were definitely far superior to modern ones.

Ah, great to see some love for the old coloured suites!
My friend has a primrose yellow suite, she's made a real feature of it, and I really like it.
It has a lovely wide sink, and a generous sized bath, and as you say, is made to last.

Pastel suites are becoming very fashionable again. I'd certainly think about keeping it.
Not sure whether the world is quite ready for avocado, aubergine or chocolate bathrooms to make a comeback though!
