Mortgage for concrete high rise flats

Hi there
I am trying to buy my council flat under right to buy scheme but getting a mortgage is so difficult. does anyone knows which bank will lend money/mortgage on concrete high rise flats.

I'm not sure but watching with interest as we are going to try and. It ours from our landlady rather than direct from the council

Maybe try going through a mortgage broker rather than to the banks directly? They should know who will lend under your circumstances

This was nigh on impossible on the heady days of early 2000s, when mortgages were being handed out like sweeties. The minute they heard "concrete", nope. So brace yourself for real difficulty now, sorry.

Long shot but worth talking to the council to see if they offer any finance facilities, as everyone will have the same issue.

London & Country are a good broker too, and might turn something up.

You need a good broker. Banks don't like lending on concrete or high rise ex-LA flats.
