Shared freehold & bees nest

Hi all,

Just looking for a word of advice regarding what to do in a situation whereby the freehold is shared with the ground floor flat (and the shared responsibility for the roof) and we have a bees nest in the roof on the top floor.

Like it would be with the need to replace roofing, is there an expectation that costs would be split for any remediation works?

Much appreciated y'all!

Get a beekeeper to come and move them. Bees use the wax they produce to make their hive, unlike wasps which chew wood to make theirs. There might be some work to fill in a hole the bees have built their hive in, but they don't generally cause damage.

What sort of bees?

Bumble bees will not build anything of any size and need be of no concern. Honey bees a local beekeeper would probably come and rescue. I suspect they are bumbles- very early for honey bees to have moved in.
