Sweepovac plinth vacuum cleaner anybody?

While waiting for the builders to make a start with my kitchen extension I am collecting gadgets that might be great help (or just fun) in the kitchen.
I came across a plinth vacuum cleaner. Sounds like something I would actually use. Does anybody here actually have one, is it useful or just another gimmick I have fallen for?

Lots of people have them in Canada - I was so jealous when I visited db!

Go for r cordless vacuum instead so you don't need to sweep.

Curcur, you are being too practical and obviously logical :). I actually have one, unfortunately not powerful enough for pet hairs. You have given me a dilemma now - more powerful cordless (which one?)
or plinth vac, hmmmm......
