Hosting an overseas intern over the summer - advice please!

Hi, I have been asked if I would be willing to host an overseas intern for 3 months over the summer. The intern is at university and will be working in the UK to improve their English and gain business experience. I have nothing to do with their employment. So they would be living in my home for 12 weeks and working Tues-Sat.

Has anyone done this before and do you have any advice for me?

I have been asked to think about what I would charge and what terms and conditions I would set. They would have a large room and would share the family bathroom with my son when he is at home. The intern would be eating at my home for breakfast and all evening meals (but I would not be cooking these). Any help much appreciated.

I've done similar - hosted an overseas student for three months. I charged £200 per month, and I ended up making evening meals because it was easier to do that than have me/DH and him both cooking separately. I would do it again if required. We still keep in touch with him - his English improved (although he now speaks with a Glaswegian accent!) and our German improved temporarily. Wink
