Just that really!

Kitchen needed in brum. Want decent quality but can't afford bespoke. Howdens and their opaque pricing is so annoying

We have a sheraton kitchen fitted and supplied by a local shop. The units are very well made. We are some way away from you but the make is nationwide.
The price was Similar to Howdens but the quality a million times better. Everything was priced up, they beat any Internet price for appliances and taps. Any little issues they sorted, this is the advantage of paying one firm to do everything.

Would you have enough confidence to measure yourself and order online from DIY Kitchens? The quality is outstanding and it's cheaper than Ikea. You get solid wood units too.

Hello! I'm in Brum. As the poster above has said, we're going with DIY kitchens because we want solid wood carcasses, in-frame shaker draws and a Farrow & Ball colour-matched finish. We're going to use an independent kitchen designer though, to plan it and tell us which units to ask our joiner to make. We had a quote for a similar kitchen for £38K (inc appliances) and I reckon will halve that cost if not reduce by two thirds...
