Corian v Krion worktops? Any experience?

We're in the middle of replacing our kitchen and had settled on white Corian for the worktops including an integral sink, while getting quotes for this, Krion has been suggested. It's about a third cheaper.

Does anyone have any experience of Krion? Is it as stain and scratch resistant as Corian? Or would you not bother and use quartz or laminate instead?

I would be wary of white corian. We had it and after a few years of using cleaning products on it, the colour changed in places. Recommend quartz though. Not really answered your question!

That's interesting, this kitchen will be in place a long time. Maybe we should look at quartz again. Thanks.

Depending on the colour, Krion may not be cheaper - it wasn't for us I recall. Only some of the colours are recommended for kitchen worktops - the ones with a three knife scratch rating. Also, some are more colourfast than others. The Krion samples we were sent we useless - they were 2 inches square . You can't decide on colour on the basis of something so tiny. I was told the lead time between templating and installation was three weeks too.

The company quoting suggested that the Krion in white was identical in all but price! I shall ask about scratch resistance again. Thanks.
