Help Tiny Box Bedroom

My third bedroom which is my sons is weeny...
12'1" x 5'7" narrowing to 4.5 (3.68m x 1.70m)..
It has a chimny breast right in the middle of it and two alcoves either side. Currently his bed still in a cot bed ( 2 inches to go..) fits in the alcove under the window. a single bed would take up the entire room...the ceiling is a bit low..
I want to move ( waiting to sell a flat..long story) so don't want to spend a ton of cash on a room that will probably only be used for a year.
Any ideas people?

cabin bed perhaps? It would not need to be very high as long as he can walk or sit under it without knocking his head.

Would give room for seating and drawers with some hanging hooks or shelves at the back

Will a "shorty" style kids bed - possibly a cabin bed, fit across the room?
Argos 175cm for example? I suspect not, in which case, how much would a 165 or 170cm bed cost?? It will be a pain to get past the chimney, but once in would be ok.

I'm not sure if the 2 inches refers to the space at the end of the cot bed, or the growth of the child before he's tonight!

A carpenter might be able to do a fitted bed, shaving a few cms off a standard one, with storage underneath. I've seen them made out of ply and OSB, which are cheap. Then a small child's mattress could fit on top.

Agree that a carpenter is the answer or a DIY savvy friend / relative. Can you buy / build a frame to go over drawers / desk. We bought a second hand wooden high sleeper off EBay which my husband "tinkered" with to reposition ladders etc / made desk underneath. Ours still fits a standard single mattress but you can buy made to measure mattresses (actually unexpectedly reasonable prices) to make the combo work.
