House feedback

Hiya,

I'm a bit of a lurker but wondered if anyone would mind giving us some feedback on our house advert. We've had 3 viewings and it's been on a month. Maybe 2 who could potentially be interested. We dropped the price from 345 as we've begun the process of buying another property and don't need to sell this to do so although obviously it would be much easier if we could.

I feel like maybe we should be getting more viewings but not sure what the market is like for properties around our price locally.

I found this property on the Rightmove Android app and wanted you to see it: www.rightmove.co.uk/s6p/65402753

Thanks in advance xxx

It's a lovely house! We live in Euxton and so know Buckshaw Village well. We have recently sold and are in the process of moving so have been avidly looking at rightmove daily! I think it's priced well and Buckshaw is always popular, it just seems to be a bad time for people selling in that 'middle' price bracket for some reason. The only other thing might be the school issues, depending if it's in the very narrow catchment for Trinity. Good luck!

StripyBlanket · 01/05/2017 16:09

I think it's lovely too. Definitely no problems with the inside. I did have a few problems trying to work out the garage and garden situation but I can't see that putting viewers off. The only worry I would have was why you were moving, you've only been there a few years. So I would assume something was wrong. Otherwise I think it's just a matter of waiting until the right buyer comes along. Good luck

Bluntness100 · 01/05/2017 16:15

I think it's lovely and in really good condition. Your sofa is a bit out there though

Is the road in front of it busy? Proximity to a road can put folks off.

MirabelleTree · 01/05/2017 16:23

It's lovely but the back garden is very overlooked by the neighbour's. It can be solved in the future with planting but it will take time therefore would put me off.

Ookmybanana · 01/05/2017 16:32

I love the downstairs but for me the bedrooms are perhaps a bit smaller than I would have hoped for with such a good space downstairs. But I'm possibly being very picky.

wowfudge · 01/05/2017 17:22

Looks a lovely house with a great layout. I have to say the photos jump around - there is no logic to the order at all. There isn't even a photo of what is called the dining room on the floorplan; you can just see it in the background on one of the photos.

It's been the Easter holidays during the time the house has been on the market. Things may pick up now even with an election in the offing.

Jennifaerie · 01/05/2017 17:25

Yeah it's in catchment for trinity and the euxton schools too especially with the new infant school building coming up on same road. People got trinity last year who didn't put it as any of their choices so think catchment is getting bigger as intake has grown. Most houses around here are overlooked to be fair and there's no neighbour on one side. The road is fairly big but not so busy. Double garage and driveway both ours.

Fingers crossed one of the interested parties will go for it. We're only moving as we're relocating or would stay here forever which was the plan. Bedrooms are all good sized doubles although master could be bigger. Think the stairs/ hallway take up quite a bit of room although they're a nice feature. Thanks girls. Do wonder whether to get a new picture of the view now there are leaves on the trees.

Actually I quite like your sofa too, it's very eye catching, 😁

Jennifaerie · 01/05/2017 17:33

Ha the purple or the green one? Old house had teal walls so it's pared back for me Wink

Is your house on the old Royal Ordnance site?

housesellingrant · 01/05/2017 21:19

Hi, I saw your house on rm and I liked it, we considered viewing but I cant quite put my finger on why I am not keen buckshaw village.
The other problem is completing against lots of other new builds and also there are a number fairly recently built houses for sale which make me wonder about the area.

SpareChangeDownTheSofa · 01/05/2017 21:26

Its lovely but I'm a bit wary about all of the things on the walls in the kids rooms, like the stickers and posters - makes me worry about the wall underneath but that wouldn't put me off it since the whole of the house is bloody lovely.

JRoo · 01/05/2017 22:37

The house itself looks lovely and spacious and in great order. My only thoughts are, can you explain what the last picture is? I am confused and would be wondering if this is the front outlook and what plans (if any) there might be for it. I would ask the agent to crop out the Give Way sign as it suggest you could be near a bottleneck (though I don't think you are?) Also I would be concerned about noise/pollution from the M6 and tram?/train line? I can't see a scale for the map.

Jennifaerie · 01/05/2017 23:44

Yeah we are near bottleneck but there are speedbumps too so people don't go so fast. Ha nothing wrong with wall in my daughter's room. Dd1 just never met a wall sticker she didn't like. They're all coming with us 😖. Well it's good to know the house comes across well. I love Buckshaw lived here for 9 years in different houses and I love the sense of community. Thanks for considering it housesellingrant 👍 it's not for everyone on here.

Re m6 you can't really hear it and the train line that goes past isn't use much so all pluses. The view over the road can't ever be built on. It's ancient woodland and belongs to all of us who live on this section of the village.

Countmagnus yes! It's a fascinating area. Getting less so as there used to be random relics if you went for a walk around here

Jennifaerie · 01/05/2017 23:53

I don't know how to edit a post 🙈 but thanks all for your feedback it's really helpful! Also yes last picture is front outlook and there is similar woodland to the side of the house.

CountMagnus · 02/05/2017 06:41

Jenni not too many random relics I hope given it was an ordnance factory. I knew the old factory site and it was a very interesting place, lots of history - lots of the old WWII sites are still around if you know where to look.

Kokusai · 02/05/2017 11:44

I thought the house looked good - well presented, nice size, great layout, ticks all the boxes with garage/drive etc.

Like a PP says the photos aren't ordered in a totally sensible way but easy enough to work out from the floor plan,.

Jennifaerie · 02/05/2017 19:21

Ha more lamposts etc. Than anything else although I think they're pretty much gone. We have a book about the site that we bought when we first moved here.

JellyMouldJnr · 03/05/2017 06:49

My only concern would be that the first photo makes it look like you're right on quite a busy road, can the agent crop out the road a bit?

CountMagnus · 03/05/2017 06:54

Used to be lots of lampposts and fire hydrants and the like. And plenty of wildlife as it was all fenced off away from poachers.

PartyintheKitchen · 03/05/2017 10:56

I really love your house, if it was in my area I would fall over myself to bid on it. Best of luck with the sale Star
