Can estate agents fabricate other offers?

I mean, when you make an offer and they tell you a much higher one has already been rejected so you need to offer more - they can't just make that up, right?

(If they did reject an offer at that price they are fools!)

Are you asking if Estate Agents are honest?

Erm.... Wink Grin

Always make your offer and insist they put it to the buyer. Never take their word for anything.

ToffeeCaramel · 27/04/2017 16:23

You could call their bluff and say "Ah ok, it looks like it's out of our price range then. Back to the drawing board."

BumbleNova · 27/04/2017 16:24

technically no. do they do it, hell yes.

CotswoldStrife · 27/04/2017 16:27

They should put all offers forward to the vendors, so it's fine to insist that they pass the offer on even if the vendors have been sniffy about higher priced offers previously

You know how to tell when an estate agent is lying? It's when their lips are moving.

niceupthedance · 27/04/2017 17:11

I did say oh well don't bother putting our offer forward then!

I'll wait until they call me back. We are in a good position as well. Slimy toads!! Wink
