Corian, krion, mistral - which solid worktop...?

I am currently designing a kitchen for our imminent renovations and am looking for a solid kitchen worktop which will have waterfall effect over an island and hopefully appear seamless. There are so many options and I'm unsure which is best, cheapest, best of both worlds? Any help much appreciated.

Ooh - I may be able to help, having looked at these three plus Kerrock!

Mistral - solid surface which has glued joints. Sheets come in two sizes. Extremely heavy. We were going to have this for our island but were advised against it because of the position of the join in relation to a unit below it. Light colours tend to show the joins more and are limited supply. Dark colours mark more easily, but it can be repolished.

Krion - thermally bonded joins. We were sent the world's smallest samples which we are still joking about. A limited selection of the colours is suitable for use as kitchen worktop. Was more expensive than some of the other stuff we looked at and apparently fabrication can take three weeks after templating. I think it looks more modern than the others - some of the colours replicate concrete for example.

Corian - seamless and can be any shape you like. It is formed round an MDF core. Is templated then fabricated. Seam free.

All three are very hygienic. We ended up just picking the colour we preferred as the prices weren't that different although Mistral is cheaper than the other two. We are having Corian.

Thank you!! This is just what I needed - had a quote today for krion and 10K for worktops...hadn't expected that but as you say was looking for a concrete look so choice of colours mistral doesn't. I've ordered a couple of corian samples and today been looking at something called Wharf but no idea of price. Also today fell in love with a kesseler kitchen which again wasn't on my radar.
Wowfudge any other kitchen tips much appreciated! Are you having a splashback in corian too and wrap around over surfaces? I am such a sucker whenever walk into showrooms blown away!

Ha ha. We have wood with no upstands every else, just the island is going to be Corian. We have one area around the hob which is being tiled next week.

It all sounds fab, post pics when done - even dreamt about kitchens last night! Love it.

I have Silestone, it's been in for nearly two years and I love it! Worth every penny!

We have Corian. Second kitchen with corian and it's fab. We have outputs with a fully splashback and integatd window cills. No tiles. Easy to clean and wonderfully shaped. Not cheap but fab.
