Leak in ceiling

I've just had a shower (attic conversion en suite) and now there is a hole in the first floor ceiling (underneath the shower) above our first set of stairs and the stairs are soaked.

I feel very naive but have no idea what to do! It's not leaking anymore - no drips at all- so can I wait to call a plumber until Tues or does it need sorting now?

Are there any electrics nearby? If the leak has stopped then you can leave it to dry out but you may want to disable any electrical circuits. Home insurance should cover ceiling damage but not resolving the leak. If they are open tomorrow give them a call .

Great, thank you. No lights nearby but will switch off just in case.

Just call your building insurance, they should deal with everything and you'll only have to payt the excess. It's not urgent though, obviously don't use the shower until it's been fixed though!
