Kitchen extraction (not exciting!)

We need extraction and are considering recycling rather than a duct. Does anyone know if this is effective please? We could have a duct but it wouldn't be straightforward.

We don't have a window in the kitchen although there are double doors leading into a conservatory- a large outdoorsy conservatory with little in the way of soft furnishing.

A recycling hood is a kitchen ornament, it fulfils no useful purpose.

Recycling is not extraction. It blows all the steam back into your kitchen, and most of the cooking smells.

As it does not create suction, there is no airflow from the rest of the house, so diffusion will carry the steam and smells throughout your house.

We've had an Elica recycling extractor for the last 9 years and would choose the same again. It's efficient at removing smells and we've had no issues with steam.

Recycling ones are pointless, all the moisture stays in, the filter just removes some of the grease. Go for the proper ducted one if you possibly can.
