I live in a townhouse and the lightwell (or area/airey) at the back of the house has been enclosed with leadwork and a roof lantern and the lightwell now forms part of the basement kitchen. This work was done by the previous owner.
I would like to remove the leadwork 'roof' and roof lantern and replace with a new floor and extension. The floor could have an area of glass bricks (where the lantern was so as to still get light in) and then build an extension over this therefore the extension will be attached to the ground floor sitting room. I envisage the extension to be like a garden room and it's in this garden room that I would like to relocate the kitchen.
I would be interested to hear from anyone who has done anything like this before.
