Part-exchanging a house

I have a house I'm trying to sell and have been made an offer by someone who's viewed it. He's offered his house in part-exchange with a cash top-up and theoretically the figures work, so I'm seriously considering accepting. I've not had a chance to go and see his house yet (this only came up this morning) but on Rightmove it looks ok (I'm not going to be living in it, but renting it out). I'd be getting a survey done in any case just to make sure it was structurally sound and not riddled with hidden problems.

Has anybody done this? What are the pros and cons and is there anything I should be aware of?

It's no different to buying and selling

You just need the figure to work and solicitors to do their iob

Thanks - that's what I was hoping to hear!
