Why is it so hard to find a tablecloth?

Now the DC are older we no longer need an oilcloth.
I've decided I'd like a pretty floral/ checked cotton cloth but it seems impossible. My table is quite big, would need one at least 250 cm long.

Sadly I have zilch skills with a sewing machine and JL, Cath Kidston, Emma Bridgewater and M&S have nothing suitable.
Is it oilcloth or nothing?

Do you have a local sewing shop? I am sure if you asked nicely they would whip one up for you using fabric from their shop.

john lewis do cut to size, standard widths but lengths can be cut to requirements.

Etsy. Loads of tablecloth-making people on there.

Do you have a local dressmaker/tailor who do alterations on clothes? If so buy a fabric that you like and get them to sew it for you.

I second dunelm mill, it was the only place I could find a semi decent tablecloth!

Cotton bedsheets (new) make good large tablecloths.

Zara home have some that are 150x250. I especially like this one:

Ikea have some that are 240 long. Could that work?

La Redoute. The French have it!

I know you said no oilcloth, but I just bought this from John Lewis, cut to size. It's a very very matte oilcloth, and doesn't look or feel obviously wipeable. It's so lovely, and I too am past the stage where wipeable is strictly a necessity.

Thanks so much for the replies. I've ordered from Zara home.
