Painting wood question!

So I want to buy this bed so I can paint it white. Do I have to sand it first to get rid of the wood grain or will a primer do?

The primer will be fine. The Tarva collection from Ikea is made from untreated wood intended for painting/waxing etc so perfect for your project,

Yes, a couple of coats of topcoat after the primer.
