In back to back houses who owns the fence at the bottom of the gardens (which back on to each other)?

It should be on your deeds, ours have different boundary lines so there is 20cm of no mans land. The one behind us are a newer build so the houses on my side generally took down their fences when the builders put up new ones. We went half on the costs but most have left to the newer houses or play chicken on who caves in first.

Not my house but am looking at properties and am curious. Shame they don't leave a copy of the deeds out for potential buyers to look over.

You can buy the deeds for £3 from Land Registry.

The title documents might not actually say - in which case the presumption is that responsibility is shared.
