Engineered wood or laminate?

Anyone have any experience of either being the wrong decision or indeed the right choice? Currently deciding which to go with. I hear wood can fade and mark ? But doesn't it look better than laminate?

It depends what look you like. Although I would say that modern laminates can be pretty convincing, warm texture etc -nothing like the stuff I grew up with! And so much cheaper too.

We've just had cushion vinyl in our extension and it's oak effect. The electrician and plumber who came back to do a couple of other jobs both asked if it was real wood it looks so convincing!

I've just had engineered wood fitted and looks great! Love it!

I'd pick engineered wood over laminate every time.

We've gone engineered wood too
