DIY kitchens - bespoke colour option

Afternoon!

Heard great things about DIY kitchens from the various threads on this board so we had a day trip to their showroom last month & again all positive. Just struggling to choose a colour for the units. We're looking to order the Clayton style (painted shaker) and leaning towards their bespoke paint option.

Anyone already been down this route? How close to your chosen colour were the final units?

Any thoughts/suggestions welcome!

Thanks in advance

Any updates? 😊

I'm still dithering. I think I want a slab matt door. (It's a small kitchen & I've got too many small cupboards, so I think a shaker would look too busy and I like the slab doors).

I'm not terribly impressed with Howden MSD & Benchmarx admit theirs needs some work. so I think I'll need to go up to Diy to have a look.

I'm torn between white & light grey. Then it'll be a major decision as to which white or grey 😖

YorkshireTea86 · 25/06/2017 15:38

We're going for the carrera matt slab from DIY Kitchens, been to look at them in the showroom. The grey looks lovely but our kitchen is just too dark for anything other than white.

AnnieAnoniMouse · 25/06/2017 15:42

Ooh. Do they have that on display? Is it a white white or an off white?

YorkshireTea86 · 25/06/2017 15:45

Yes they have it on display in lamp room grey I think. The white is white which is why I liked theirs, hardly anywhere does white matt, they are all off white or cream and I wanted white white.

AnnieAnoniMouse · 25/06/2017 18:40

Thanks for that. It's a little disappointing they don't have the white on display (properly, I know they'll have the single door). Matt white seems hard to get right. However, the fact you like it is giving me some confidence that it'll be good!

What work surface did you decide on?

YorkshireTea86 · 25/06/2017 18:47

We're going with clay sangha Wenge laminate. I love the grey stellar quartz but budget just won't stretch to it, or if it did we couldn't afford to do the utility and downstairs toilet which needs doing too.

AnnieAnoniMouse · 29/06/2017 22:30

Yes, money will only stretch so far - on top of the kitchen & all the usual crap my car has just died & I need to replace it, pronto (currently hiring one) 😖 That worktop sounds nice anyway 😊
