What can we do with this bathroom?

This is our bathroom. How can we make it look right? We can't afford to change anything apart from painting the walls apart from maybe replacing the linoleum on the floor.

The problem is the stupid wet well panelling. It takes up is much of the walls, it doesn't match the colour of the bath, its just horrid. But we can't afford to change it, I don't think you could get it off without damaging the plasterboard.

Can you paint wet wall? Or do you think if we painted the walls a darker colour it would make the panelling look more or less obvious? Or a darker flooring maybe?

Any suggestions welcome, it's actually a lovely big bright room, it's just the colours that are miserable.

Maybe have a play on some of those apps where you can take a photo then see what it looks like with different paint coluurs?

Not much wrong with that and the panels are great, easy to clean and no mucky grout.

Just paint the rest to your taste. Easy.

i think the blue paint is nice and cheerful myself. I quite fancy that wet wall stuff too.

Maybe go a bit mad with some funky lino. You can get lovely stuff these days with little sparkles, all sorts. Maybe midnight blue with sparkles, or how about putting in dark flooring and painting the walls a bright colour? Swap towels and bathmat that work with the wall colour. Or put some plants in. I don't think there's much wrong with it really, you just need to put something in there that makes you smile.

I think you might be surprised how inexpensive tiling can be if you DIY and pick budget friendly tiles though.

Dark grey walls an walnut vinyl floor would give it a more grown up feel. New towels would also help.

Change the colour of the walls and floor to a blue grey. Get a wide slat ventian blind for the window. Put a shelf running along the wall, under the mirror for your bits. Palm style plants and give the room a Colonial feel.

That blue is a wee bit institutional. Grey blue or green blue would be better.
