Gorgeous old Victorian villa ( 200 square foot) but the current owners have removed lintels and put modern windows in. These would all need replaced and supported properly.
Would anybody have a rough idea how much this would cost??

You'd need to tell us more. Number of windows? Sash?

harrykane · 04/03/2017 19:20

Ten windows, one of them bay, they are not sash but I would like to return them to sash. Just looking for a rough idea as I would get a quote before I put offer in but I really don't have clue if 1000 or 100,000 I'm looking at 😃

We had one double glazed dash window replaced from hardwood it was beautiful and bespoke (conservation area) and that cost £846 + vat. I'm guessing for 10 it would be slightly cheaper but £9-10k would cover the windows not sure about the lintel

Sash not dash!

Thanks shadow. It's a beautiful house and they have put really horrid modern windows into it.

We put in double glazed hardwood sash windows a couple of years ago - ours are really big - another Victorian villa and were about £1k each remember the bay's are treated as a window per section
I love them and were worth every penny

I'd agree. Allow £1k approx per window.
