Wallpaper in ocean-side property?

I'm redecorating my parents house, mainly the guest bedroom and bathroom and I'd love to wallpaper the guest bedroom.

They live about 400 yards from a salty ocean and my mum is saying wallpaper is not suitable because of the sea salt. Is this true? Does anyone have any experience with ocean-side properties?

We have wallpaper and overlook the mouth of the river and can see the sea. Tide comes in and you can smell the salt air. The wallpaper looks good and has never had any problems. Every room was papered, we've been replacing and plastering re wallpapering with no issues.
