I think it's really nice. I think you risk it looking a bit stark if you have white walls.

littlemissM92 · 25/02/2017 15:02

Fair point but I really don't think the floor goes ?

What about a pale grey on the walls (something like Farrow and Ball cornforth white, or Dulux polished pebble) and then Karndean floor boards (or other similar make) in a white washed wood effect.

SloanyAnne · 25/02/2017 15:30

The floor kind of goes with blue walls and white units but not when you have so much black. I'd look at a black and white floor. That then gives you a bit of scope with the walls.

I will have a look into all suggestions thanku x

I second a very pale grey because I don't dislike the blue. I think it looks nice with the floor.

I've got a pale grey in my kitchen. Goes with lots of colours

NotYoda · 25/02/2017 16:16

Dulux White Mist is a very pale grey-white

I like the floor. It softens the monochrome look

If I were to change anything, it would be the worktop. It's the back and blue that don't look nice together

SwedishEdith · 25/02/2017 16:18

I agree that it's the black worktop that makes it more difficult but appreciate that's more expensive to replace.

littlemissM92 · 25/02/2017 16:39

I agree too but it's a brand new kitchen so would feel crazy changing it before adapting colour of walls first to soften it xx

I actually think you need to go for a really dark colour on the walls- dark navy/grey/olive. The floor is fine. A dark colour would transform it. I'll try and find an example

IF suggest some art work on the walls

Look at some vynal flooring - possibly black and sparkly!

It does stand out the floor looks old fashioned compared to the new kitchen

NotYoda · 25/02/2017 18:04

everything

I agree. That looks great, and the worksurface and floor would go nicely

littlemissM92 · 25/02/2017 21:08

Thanks so much everyone lots to consider would never if thought of going darker on walls will have a good think and get some tester pots x

I would not put white washed wood Karndean in. I have similar in a small area (not kitchen) and it really shows up any dust/dirt.

FrozenNotCold · 25/02/2017 21:19

What about some wood effect porcelain floor tiles in various shades of greige? It'll keep some warmth to the look, won't show the dirt and add some interest. You can then have white walls.

littlemissM92 · 26/02/2017 07:09

Frozennotcold I like that idea

Anotherminime · 26/02/2017 07:28

For me it's definitely the floor that needs changing, the wood is very orange which clashes with the blue. You could either go with a dark colour floor to match the work surface or a limestone effect works nicely too. You can search white cabinets black granite on Pinterest and it comes up with loads of ideas. This was my favourite pin.it/KHOswn5

itsnotfair10 · 26/02/2017 08:13

I agree with the other posters it's the floor that clashes. I would suggest a dark vinyl like a granite floor, or perhaps some large dark grey stone tiles?
Floor needs to dark to complement the worktop

Might look good on floor?

I like the walls with the black - love blue, black and white together.

littlemissM92 · 26/02/2017 11:44

Ahh all amazing suggestions anotherminime yours is my fave going to go for that all very white ! X
